In 2016, Mrs. Suzie Ogiugo conceived Canadian Bridge Academy to meet the increasing demand for world-class education in Nigeria. CBA was borne out of her deep commitment to provide child-centered, superior learning. In her role as CEO, Suzie provides leadership and strategic

leadership and strategic direction to a growing community of staff, students, and other stakeholders.

She holds a bachelor’s in Business Administration, with a specialization in Finance and Banking, from Ahmadu Bello University. An experienced investment banker and member of the Institute of Canadian Bankers, Suzie previously worked as an Investment Consultant and Financial Advisor at one of Canada’s largest banks.

When not guiding CBA, Suzie volunteers her time helping newcomers settle into life in Canada, generously sharing her experiences. She also loves to travel, learn about different cultures, and she is an ardent lover of nature and the outdoors.

She is a proud mum of four lovely children.

Daniel J. Sikkema

Mr. Daniel J. Sikkema grew up in Ontario, Canada, and has a passion and gifting for education. He attended a post-secondary institution in Canada renowned for its Education Department Brock University – from 2011 – 2016, earning himself bachelor degrees in Education, History 

bachelor degrees in Education, History and English, and graduating with Honors as a certified and licensed member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT).

With an unwavering commitment to education and a passion for fostering student growth, Mr. Sikkema proudly serves as the Principal of Canadian Bridge Academy. Bringing a wealth of expertise from a diverse background, he is dedicated to creating a nurturing and innovative learning environment.

Mr. Sikkema embarked on his educational journey with a foundational role at Hillcrest international school as a full-time English language teacher, where he honed his skills in leadership, curriculum development, student engagement amongst many and was made the Head of the High School English Department there for seven years. This experience shaped his holistic approach to education, emphasizing not only academic excellence but also personal development.

At Canadian Bridge Academy, he continues to inspire students, parents, and educators alike. Under their guidance, the academy thrives as a hub of intellectual curiosity, creativity, and inclusivity. With a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement, he envisions a future where every student is empowered to reach their full potential.

Outside of their professional commitments, love for both Nigeria and his home country of Canada, Mr. Daniel J. Sikkema enjoys sports (and games in general), the outdoors, travelling, great music, great food (Nigerian local dishes), and also believes in the transformative power of education to bridge gaps and shape a brighter future for all.

Simeon Udonu Olong

Simeon Udonu Olong serves as the Vice Principal and Head of High School at Canadian Bridge Academy, having previously held the position of Head of Elementary School within the same institution. With a Master’s degree in Educational Administration and Planning, Simeon is a passionate and dedicated education

Simeon is a passionate and dedicated education professional committed to helping students achieve their educational goals.

Boasting over twelve years of experience in school leadership, his extensive career in academic administration includes roles such as Elementary and Middle School Principal, School Administrator, Vice Principal Academics and Administration, and Examination Officer. Throughout his career, Simeon has developed lasting relationships and a remarkable talent for working collaboratively to achieve institutional goals. His expertise in policy and process development, process improvement, staff development, academic planning, staff evaluation, and school management has been instrumental in meeting high-quality performance goals and standards.

As a school administrator, Simeon has been a strong advocate for professional development, supporting teachers in learning and applying new skills, optimizing classroom environments, and ensuring the effective delivery of educational programs. He has consistently maintained rigorous goals and standards, trained teachers in effective teaching techniques and classroom management strategies, and ensured compliance with established policies, legal requirements, and student safety standards.

In addition to his administrative roles, Simeon has made significant contributions as a Mathematics Teacher. He has provided meaningful math instruction to enhance students’ math skills, utilized diverse teaching techniques and learning tools to accommodate varying ability levels and learning modalities, and offered regular office hours to assist students struggling with the material.

Simeon is a certified and licensed teacher with an educational background that includes a Nigerian Certificate in Education in Mathematics/Physics, a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from the University of Abuja and a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration and Planning from the National Open University of Nigeria. He has also undergone various professional trainings, including the Oral Roberts University Educational Fellowship’s International Educators Conference, training with COGNIA (formerly known as AdvancEd), as well as training with the British Council and the Rosedale Global High School.

Overall, Simeon Udonu Olong is an experienced education professional with a proven track record of transforming schools and a passion for building a better future for students through effective administration and planning. His commitment to high-quality education and continuous improvement makes him an invaluable asset to Canadian Bridge Academy.
